July 21th, 2003 ISTH 2003 Review Over 7,000 scientists and clinicians from all corners of the globe gathered last week in Birmingham to participate in the XIX congress of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH). Whilst the sun shone, the delegates soaked up the latest in “cutting edge” science.  During breaks from a varied programme of plenary lectures, oral communications, lively debates, satellite symposia and poster viewing attendees visited the commercial exhibition, where they were able to learn more about the latest innovations from the pharmaceutical industry. 
Octapharma was amongst the exhibitors, and a daily changing programme of events ensured that the booth stayed busy throughout the week.Highlights included: “Meet the Expert” sessions with Prof Eric Berntop and Dr. Riitta Lassila, a presentation of new data on the incidence and avoidance of Transfusion Related Acute Lung Injury, prize draws and even table ice hockey! With well over 1,000 visitors each day, Octapharma´s international team, were able to make many new contacts and renew countless old acquaintances.
