Octapharma expands into Eastern Europe

Following on from notable successes in Western Europe, South America, the Middle East and Asia, Octapharma is now extending its network into Eastern Europe.

Previously, all business in this region was handled by an Export team based at the Swedish subsidiary Octapharma Nordic AB. However due to increased production capacity as the result of major investments and through recognition of the growing political and economic importance of this region, Octapharma has taken the decision to open a number of new national offices.

The first of these opened July 1st 2003 in Slovakia. Based in Bratislava, and headed by country manager Dr. Miroslav Gresik, the Slovakian office has been delivering life saving plasma derivative products to customers in the region since September. Amongst the products already in use, is Octapharma´s double virus inactivated FVIII-VWF concentrate - Octanate®, that is being used in the management of haemophilia A patients with inhibitors.

A national office will open shortly in Poland and recruitment of a country manager has begun. Applications are invited from highly experienced professionals with a background of outstanding achievements in medical, pharmaceutical or equipment sales. For more information about this position please take a look at the Employment Opportunities section of this site (you will find this by clicking on “The Company” section of the menu bar). Discussions are also at an advanced stage for the opening of a sales office in Russia together with a local partner.
