Further Expansion of Octapharma USA

In preparation for the US launch of Octagam®, Octapharma has recently hired a further six Territory Business Managers, who will be responsible for business development in Altanta, Boston, California, Maryland, Ohio and  Pennsylvania.

This takes the current number of field based specialists to 12 and will provide Octapharma with key account and sales coverage of the vast majority of the United States.

In accordance with Octapharma´s quest for excellence in all areas of business, the new team is composed of individuals with both outstanding sales achievement records and the ambition to continue achieving over and above all expectations.

Following an introductory training program at Octapharma USA headquarters in Herndon, Va. the new recruits participated in an intensive international training course in Vienna, Austria.  Here, they were joined by Octapharma colleagues from Malaysia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Sweden, Thailand and the UK.This truly international gathering accurately reflects the increasing globalisation of Octapharma.

During the week long program, students learned that it is as important to distinguish themselves from others as it is to differentiate products. Active participation was encouraged as was the sharing of experience and information from their diverse markets.  In this way, new perspectives, challenges and solutions were uncovered and everybody in the group was able to contribute and benefit.
Raising the Bar

In addition to theoretical and practical product training, participants visited the manufacturing facilities and key departments such as Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Furthermore they had the opportunity to meet and question members of the Octapharma Management Board as well as the Heads of Medical, Regulatory, Plasma Sourcing, Production, Pre-Clinical Development and Virology.

The course was professionally co-ordinated by Barbara Stadlmair and moderated by Judi Miller, International Corporate Services Director, whose responsibilities include internal Training and Development.
