This mix of educational formats provided nurses and other healthcare professionals with state-of-the-art information aimed at building the knowledge and skills necessary for the management, administration, and delivery of quality health and infusion care practice.
The presentation entitled IGIV: Issues and Concerns that may affect patient treatment, was repeated twice during the congress and challenged the perceived wisdom that all IGIV´s are equal. She explained that differences in the starting material, manufacturing method, virus inactivation, purification, stabilisation and final formulation of commercial IGIV preparations may affect the safety, efficacy, tolerability and/or convenience of the finished product and have a significant impact on clinical outcome
