Octapharma USA supports Infusion Nurse Society Annual meeting

Held each spring, the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) Annual Meeting provides four days of educational sessions, professional networking, and a three-day industrial exhibition, all of which highlight the most current infusion therapy issues and innovative technologies.

This year the meeting was held May 3rd-6th in Salt Lake City, UT and was attended by almost 1,000 healthcare professionals. Throughout the congress, delegates had the opportunity to attend an integrated mixture of:
  • interacive sessions
  • skills workshops
  • roundtables
  • abstract presentations
  • industrial showcases
  • educational poster presentations

This mix of educational formats provided nurses and other healthcare professionals with state-of-the-art information aimed at building the knowledge and skills necessary for the management, administration, and delivery of quality health and infusion care practice.

Octapharma and meet delegates at INS
In addition, a commercial exhibition offered delegates the chance to hear about new technologies, products and services allied to their profession.

Octapharma was present amongst the exhibitors and provided visitors with information about the Company and our future plans in the United States.

Visitors to the booth were invited to participate in a quiz to win an iPod. Questions were based on information given during a lecture by Octapharma´s Judi Miller.

The presentation entitled – IGIV: Issues and Concerns that may affect patient treatment, was repeated twice during the congress and challenged the perceived wisdom that all IGIV´s are equal. She explained that differences in the starting material, manufacturing method, virus inactivation, purification, stabilisation and final formulation of commercial IGIV preparations may affect the safety, efficacy, tolerability and/or convenience of the finished product and have a significant impact on clinical outcome

Out of more than 500 entrants with correct answers, the lucky winner of the Apple iPod was Mala Von Gunten, Director of Professional Service /Nursing, Davie;Florida.

Octapharma would like to congratulate Mala and thank all the other delegates for taking part or for visting us during the congress.
