Octapharma supports Thai Haemophilia Society meeting
The annual meeting of the Haemophilia Society of Thailand was held May 2nd at the Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok. It was attended by almost 100 haemophiliacs, their families and specialist physicians. Organised by Society president Dr Parttraporn Isarangkura along with Dr Ampaiwan Chuansumrit and her staff, the theme of the meeting was: "Building Opportunities to Improve Quality of Life."
During the course of the day, attendees were addressed by Khun Ekawat, chief of the Hemophilia Patient Society, who brought them up to date on news and projects planned by the Society.
A special feature of the meeting was the open discussion / problem-solving forums. In these, people with haemophilia were split into age and sex matched groups and were encouraged to share their experience, problems, hopes and fears with doctors and their peers. By stratifying the age groups, every person was able to contribute and benefit from these sessions.
Octapharma was one of the sponsors of this event. On the day, eight people from our team in Thailand, were on hand to help coordinate the activities.

Insight & inspiration
"It was a great honour to be invited to the Haemophilia Patients meeting. My attendance at this event gave me a greater insight into the lives of people with haemophilia and the challenges they face. It both inspired and convinced me about the role I have in improving the treatment options for people with clotting disorders."
