Octapharma significantly expands European business


Following Octapharma´s 2002 acquistion of the plasma division of Biovitrum, the Regulatory Departments of Vienna, Germany and Stockholm embarked upon a major programme of European license applications in order to:
  • strengthen and confirm Octapharma´s position in Europee
  • further capitalise on the high quality products added to the portfolio as a result of the acquisition
  • broaden Octapharma´s range of haemophilia treatment options


Octapharma is proud to announce that over the past 12 months 43 new licences were obtained as a result of 6 Mutual Recognition Procedures, significantly increasing the number of countries in which Octagam, Octanate, Nanotiv, Albuminativ, Octaplex and Gammanorm are now approved.

This brings to 74, the total number of product registrations held by Octapharma in the (non-expanded) EU region i.e. Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland,France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and UK.
