New study to describe potential of Octagam in treating post-partum relapse in multiple sclerosis patients
Results from a new study looking at the efficacy of intravenuous immunoglobulins application in post-partum relapse in multiple sclerosis patients will be presented for the first time at the upcoming European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) congress, Oct 6-9, in Vienna, Austria.
The GAMPP study (Gammaglobulins Post-Partum Study), will describe the efficacy of postpartal application of Octagam 5% to reduce relapse activity in MS patients during the first months after delivery. This study was completed in January 2004, and is expected to be published by year end.
The GAMPP study was performed under the auspices of the European Charcot foundation . Prof. Judith Haas, Berlin , principal investigator of the study, will present the results on Oct .6 at the satellite symposium of the European Charcot-Foundation entitled, "Effect of post-partum treatments on relapse frequency in MS patients."
