Octapharma to Sponsor TRALI Symposium at the 26th ISICEM Congress

Transfusion-related acute lung injury (TRALI) is considered as one of the most important complications in the transfusion of blood and blood components. The reported incidence figures for TRALI vary remarkably.  Because the symptoms are non-specific and pulmonary reactions are often not attributed to the transfusion, TRALI is underdiagnosed and underreported. Octapharma will therefore host a lunchtime symposium, “TRALI -The Preventable Danger in Intensive Care?” during the 26th Annual International Symposium of Intensive Care & Emergency Medicine (ISICEM - March 21-24) in order to increase the overall awareness of TRALI as well as highlight prevention strategies.
