“for the safe and optimal use of human proteins” – new mission statement


Over the past six years, Octapharma has dedicated significant resources into recombinant product research and development. Unlike other companies, who have based their products upon animal cell lines, Octapharma has based its recombinant protein research on the use of a human cell line.

This unique approach further emphasises Octapharma’s cutting-edge commitment to state-of-the art products and excellence in patient care.

The recombinant research department in Sweden is rapidly working towards the final formulation of its first products.

This major investment into recombinant technology has motivated us to modify our mission statement for the safe and optimal use of plasma.

As of 2007 Octapharma will adopt a new corporate mission statement “for the safe and optimal use of human proteins”.

Consistent with this updated statement we will remain true to our overall goal of achieving balanced production and thereby securing the optimal use of all human proteins. This we will achieve by selling both immunoglobulins and other associated proteins, such as plasma-derived coagulation factors, as well as introducing novel recombinant products.
