Octapharma’s Presence at the 20th ESCIM Annual Congress - Berlin October 7-10, 2007


ESICM 2007
The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine is an international non profit-making association of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and other allied healthcare professionals. The number of members is now reaching 4’000. The Society is devoted to the promotion of intensive care medicine, education, research and professional development.
The upcoming ESICM congress held in Berlin, Germany is the 20th Annual Congress and coincides with the society’s 25th year. To mark this landmark of a quarter of a century, ESICM is producing what will be its best annual congress ever.

The theme for the year and the motto of the congress reflect this ‘coming of age’ and recognize both past achievements and current successes. The congress will therefore be performed under the motto of ‘25 years of progress and innovation’. During the congress a series of thematic lectures will be held which will describe these progresses and innovations from 14 separate topics. These will form the backbone of this 20th meeting and should be a stimulating and exciting experience for all participants.


Booth
Octapharma will, for the first time, participate with a booth at this congress. We will have a 42 sqm booth, N° 20 located in Exhibition area, Hall 12. Delegates attending the congress are invited to visit us at the exhibition for refreshments and to discuss our products. You will easily recognize our booth as it displays a large 3-dimensional model of the Matterhorn (most famous Swiss mountain).
We will be present with our Intensive Care product portfolio, presenting octaplas® (biopharmaceutical alternative of plasma for infusion), octaplex® (2nd Generation Prothrombin Complex Concentrate) and atenativ® (Pure Antithrombin III concentrate, free of heparin).

We also welcome you to our booth to play our interactive Quiz – The ICU Challenge, where you can learn about our products. A presentation will run on the plasma screen with information about the products and you will be confronted with three questions per product on a Quiz card. Each contestant will receive a handy Torch, perfect  now that Fall is approaching! Each day ten lucky winners will receive the Octapharma Survival Kit.

Poster
"Effect of Prothrombin Complex Concentrate (octaplex®) on Coagulation and Blood Loss in Rats" will be presented during the congress.
