Octapharma at WFH Congress, June 1 - 5, 2008, Istanbul, Turkey
The XXVI Congress of the World Federation of Hemophilia i(WFH) is the largest and most comprehensive international meeting of members of the global hemophilia community. The program will feature internationally recognized experts in treatment and research, making it the preeminent meeting for those interested in hemophilia and related bleeding disorders. We are expecting to welcome in Istanbul 4,000 health care providers, government officials, patients, and their families from more than 100 countries.
Octapharma will participate in the Exhibition with 144 sq. ms. booth (#4), presenting our complete coagulation portfolio, including wilate®, octanate®, octanine F®, nanotiv® and octaplex®. Out of a total of 15 scientific posters, which will be displayed at the official poster area, we will have 8 of these put on view on our exhibition booth.
During WFH, Octapharma will proudly present two Satellite Symposia. Please find detailed information below.
The first Symposium entitled “Looking for milestone improvements in VWD treatment tasks defined and resolved” will address the analytical issues of clinical monitoring of VWF:RCo levels, and explore topics of von Willebrand factor functionality under physiological flow conditions, management of peri-operative hemostasis in VWD patients with wilate®, and the concept of long term prophylaxis in VWD.

The second Symposium entitled “Von Willebrand factor in FVIII complex concentrates: from laboratory to clinical practice” will offer a balanced mix of data highlighting the impact of VWF on FVIII-inhibitor immunology, and will provide an opportunity to discuss recent successful interim data from the prospective post-marketing study in progress that support the use of VWF/FVIII concentrate for ITI in haemophilia A patients with poor prognosis.
