Recognising that the quality, safety, efficacy and yields of plasma and plasma derivatives are dependent on the integrity of the temperature chain, Octapharma has established the following:
- Controlled temperature storage of source plasma and finished products, with continuous, validated temperature monitoring
- In case of power loss, all freezers / cold rooms have an emergency back-up system
- Transport by special Octapharma chilled vans that guarantee temperature control (for finished products - this is applicable for select destinations.)
- All incoming plasma and finished products are transported with computerised temperature data loggers
