Project Manager
Octapharma (www.octapharma.com) is a Swiss-based, global, biopharmaceutical company our core business is the development, production and sale of high quality, life-saving plasma derivatives.
Octapharma Canada is in the process of establishing itself and introducing products in the Canadian market.
Role
We are looking for a unique person to fulfill the role of Project Manager someone with a wide variety of skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a willingness to take on new tasks and challenges. The Project Manager will report to the local Octapharma manager. The role will be full-time and based in Octapharma Canada’s office in Toronto. Some domestic and international travel may be required.
The Project Manager will manage and be the key liaison for activities related to:
- Quality control (release of products in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Regulatory affairs (maintaining operating licences and ensuring compliance with Health Canada regulations)
- Pharmacovigilance (monitoring and reporting adverse drug reactions)
- Inventory management and distribution (ensuring the product supply chain proceeds smoothly, from production in Europe to importation and local distribution to customers)
- Customer contract management (ensuring contract terms are fulfilled)
- General office administration / clerical tasks
- Ad hoc projects and activities (generally being hands-on in the development of the Canadian business)
In addition, the Project Manager may participate in other aspects of the Canadian business, for example:
- Managing projects and activities in specific areas (e.g. marketing / sales / customer relations)
- Liaising with clinicians and health care professionals to introduce them to Octapharma’s high quality range of plasma derivatives
Requirements
The candidate should ideally have / be:
- An undergraduate degree in commerce or science (e.g. pharmacy, pharmacology, chemistry, biochemistry, biology)
- 2 to 5 years of work experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong project management / logistics management skills (knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an asset)
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills
- Able to communicate across multiple functions, and with the international subsidiaries
- A self-starter with the ability to work assertively in a fast-paced, market entry/start-up environment
- A ‘can-do’, flexible attitude and be willing to chip in where needed
