Virus & Prion Validation Frankfurt

Efforts at the Virus & Prion Validation unit support Octapharma’s commitment to safe protein products derived from human plasma and human cell lines.

 

The state-of-the-art Frankfurt facility is certified to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) for the provision of comprehensive GLP-compliant virus and prion validation studies with the highest level of quality and regulatory compliance.

Work includes:

  • Research and validation of virus and other pathogen inactivation steps in novel processes  
  • Re-validation and robustness studies of established process steps in a laboratory scale in the presence of viruses including HIV and WNV
  • Research on emerging new viruses
  • Providing a complete portfolio of human plasma-derivates to meet both current and future therapeutic needs
