Bridging the Gap Between Clinical Evidence and Factor Concentrate Use

Introduction
Growing clinical evidence is supporting the use of targeted factor concentrate therapy in perioperative bleeding management. Yet translating evidence into routine clinical practice remains challenging, with differences in institutional protocols, clinical pathways, multidisciplinary ownership and guideline adoption.
This symposium will explore how the gap between evidence and implementation can be addressed, with a particular focus on the US healthcare environment. Experts will review key clinical, safety and health-economic evidence and discuss the barriers that continue to influence the adoption of factor-based bleeding management strategies.
The faculty will also examine real-world experience with the transition towards factor-based care, exploring how evidence-based policy, standardised protocols, multidisciplinary collaboration and education can help translate clinical evidence into practice and support more consistent approaches to bleeding management.
Perspectives from leading medical societies will then explore how evolving evidence may inform guidelines, education and greater standardisation of care. The session will conclude with a multidisciplinary discussion on what successful implementation could look like in practice and the actions needed to move from evidence to protocols, guidelines and routine clinical practice.
