Building on its reputation as one of Austria’s leading employers, Octapharma Vienna has once again been recognised for its excellence – this time among the nation’s top-performing businesses. Octapharma Vienna was awarded third place in the “Large Companies Vienna” category (annual turnover above EUR 50 million) at the Austria’s Leading Companies (ALC) awards 2025, held at Casino Baden – recognising the site’s consistent growth and innovation.

Organised by PwC Austria, KSV1870, and Die Presse, the ALC awards are among the country’s most respected business recognitions. What sets them apart is their objectivity: rankings are based on audited financial results from the past three years, evaluating profitability, equity strength, liquidity, and long-term performance rather than short-term gains.

The awards honour excellence in three categories – small, medium, and large companies – recognising enterprises with annual turnover below EUR 10 million, between EUR 10 and 50 million, and above EUR 50 million, respectively. Being placed among the top three in the Large Companies group marks a significant achievement for Octapharma Vienna in one of Austria’s most competitive business regions.

A story of growth and dedication

Since its establishment in 1989, Octapharma Vienna has developed into a strategic production and R&D site within the Octapharma network, combining scientific expertise with large-scale manufacturing to produce plasma-derived medicines that treat patients living with immune deficiencies, bleeding disorders, critical care and other rare conditions.

Over more than three decades, the site has continually expanded its capacity and modernised its infrastructure These investments ensure that Octapharma Vienna will remain both a cornerstone of the Group’s global operations and a benchmark for high-quality manufacturing.

Behind the site’s success are almost 1,700 employees, whose expertise spans production, quality, engineering, logistics, and support functions. Their shared commitment to quality and collaboration has built a workplace culture defined by purpose and precision – one that continues to power Octapharma’s mission to advance human life.

Accepting the award, General Manager Barbara Rangetiner acknowledged the critical impact of her colleagues:

“This recognition belongs to all our employees who bring their knowledge, passion, and precision to work every day. It reflects our collective effort to innovate, improve, and ensure that patients receive the life-saving medicines they rely on.”

Gerda Brandt, Head of Human Resources, highlighted the human aspect behind the achievement:

“Awards like this are not just about performance indicators — they’re about people. Our success comes from creating an environment where colleagues feel valued, engaged, and proud of the work they do. This recognition reflects that shared spirit, and it supports our goal within Octapharma’s long-term strategy: to remain an employer of choice by fostering a workplace where talent thrives and commitment is rewarded.”

A shared success story

The recognition for Vienna follows another milestone within the Group. Recently, Octapharma Dessau received the Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Enterprises in Saxony-Anhalt – one of Germany’s most prestigious business awards, celebrating innovation, responsibility, and sustainable growth.

Together, these achievements reflect how Octapharma’s values – Ownership, Integrity, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Sustainability – are brought to life across its sites. From Vienna to Dessau and beyond, they demonstrate how consistent effort, collaboration, and long-term thinking continue to define Octapharma’s success.
