Who?
Name: Dominique Ulrich
Position: Quality Representative II (RQII) - Coordinator and Systems Administrator for the Quality Control Laboratories
With Octapharma since: 2016 as a Service Provider and since 2020 as an internal Octapharma employee
Products that matter
Octapharma fosters a culture of continuous improvement, where mutual support is key. Entrepreneurial spirit, collaboration, and impactful innovation are highly valued. "We have all been trained to strive for better solutions. It's not always easy, but that's the spirit of Quality Control."
Everyone is part of a vital chain, and Dominique's department has an essential mission: ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality, efficacy, and safety for patients. "We're not involved in the manufacturing itself, but we ensure that each product meets expectations at every stage. A quality product is essential. It must be safe and meet the needs of those we serve."
"Every day, we work together to fulfill the Group's mission, driven by our core values." Dominique recalls a moment of particular pride: "It was a big day with a lot at stake. We had to move twelve ovens in the Microbiology laboratory in one day, mobilizing around ten people from several departments. Although we didn't finish on time, everyone came together at 7am the next day to complete the job. I'm very proud of this project team."
For Dominique, working at Octapharma is about helping others. "I'm proud to support the laboratory in its operations. Anyone who needs me knows they can count on my support."
"I enjoy seeing progress; sometimes a bit of action is all it takes."
Growing together
For our company, the notion of fulfillment is key. What motivates Dominique to come to work at Octapharma every day is the human interaction—her department, her broader network, and her environment. She is actively involved in the running group and supports the Social and Economic Committee (CSE). "I help the CSE manage communication and organise sporting activities, such as the running event or "Les Lauriers du Sport." This extra-professional aspect is important to me. It broadens my network and motivates me even more to come to work in the mornings."
Octapharma is committed to supporting the internal development of its employees. During annual interviews, each employee has the opportunity to share their medium- and long-term aspirations. "Every year, we are asked where we see ourselves in 3 to 5 years."
Maintaining team spirit and a sense of mission is invaluable at Octapharma. "Our core business is cooperation and coordination with people, and that's well recognised. We communicate extensively with each other and collaborate on continuous improvement projects to ensure laboratories operate under optimal conditions. We're constantly brainstorming, and everyone is encouraged to contribute their ideas. This collective effort is how we find the best solutions."
Stability in an ever-changing world
Octapharma is dedicated to securing the future of its teams through concrete actions, such as the Panzyga 2.0 project, a major production expansion. "This project demonstrates the Group's confidence in our site. It's a fantastic opportunity, as it ensures the social and economic sustainability of the company."
Everyone is encouraged to embrace this essential value. Events like Sustainable Development Week help raise awareness. Dominique is deeply committed to this area: through small actions, she raises awareness, shares knowledge, and engages others. "It may seem insignificant, but these small actions are what ultimately drive change. Things are evolving, but it takes time to shift mentalities and practices."
Octapharma is building its future on the foundation of trust. "Patients must have confidence in our products, just as we must trust each other to ensure the quality of our work. You can't grow, professionally or personally, with people you don't trust." Dominique understands that her role is to honour and maintain the trust placed in her by patients, serving as part of a vital chain.
